My Messages (English) are Received as Japanese Characters

Strange result when sending email messages to a particular recipient. We are both in North America, English-speaking only. My regular plain old English emails are received by my associate but display as Japanese characters. And it turns out that if he runs it through a translator, it gives him the correct English version. It only happens with this particular recipient, and has happened from Day One. What gives?

I'm running a 9530, v. 5.0.0.328 official. And only English is installed on my device.

    He's running an HTC Android.

May be a silly question but has your friend checked the settings on the Android? I would think that since it only happens when e-mailing your associate, I would think that the Android is doing the translation. At least the Android has the Japanese character set so it may also be performing the translation. So I would check the Android settings. Good luck!
