My Blackberry Brain is dead
I went to the dark side phone-wise 6 months ago and needed to give my Curve to my son....his phone is toast. I was going to update the BB, and I bricked it with the 507 code instead. This has happened before, my BB is not being recognized on DM. I have tried taking the battery out w/ DM and going into the common files angel and neither get me going.
Please help, my 13 son doesn't need to know dad is an idiot. How can I get my BB now recognized?
I am running DM 4.6 and it is my old 8300. I see under RoGro's FAQ's a link on what to do, but it is throwing down KBO2742 and a bunch of references similar that don't mean anything to me. I am trying, just not getting anywhere.
Let's try a few things and see if it works:
1) disconnect the device
2) shut down DM
3) uninstall the device OS from your PC
4) restart your PC
5) reinstall the OS
6) delete the vendor.xml file from C >> Program Files >> Common Files >> Research in Motion >> AppLoader
7) take the battery out (of the device)
8) connect the device to your PC via the USB cable
9) start DM
It should recognize the device and start loading the OS
Hope this works. If it doesn't PM me and I'll try to help you further.
Did everything and its no go....it will not recognize my 8300.
I would try a clean uninstall of DM and all things RIM then do as you did before and reboot and re-install. Also when trying the app loader are you placing the battery back in right as the loader starts to connect?
Cowboy saves the day again....I wasn't timing the battery input correctly.
Good deal. Glad you got it to work.
