Most stable tethering device on t-mobile

My pearl is about shot and won't stay connect and only cure is a battery pull. Looking to upgrade my phone but I need one with great tethering capabilities. I use it for my home internet connection (live out in the country).
I've seen t-mobile might be getting the storm 2. Should I wait?

    Thanks,
    Matt

If your pearl is shot, I would take a look at the Curve 8900. It is getting good reviews. I am not sure about the tethering but if your pearl worked, Im sure the new curve will.

I had great success with tethering the 8320.

I have not yet tried the 8900, but TMO has always supported tethering even to the level of providing technical support over the phone, so I would be pretty confident you could get the 8900 up with little issue.

Tethering is more based on location rather than BB. If you want the best of the best, consider a data card...

My brother also lives out in the country and went from an unlocked 8310 on TMobile to an 8900......he has experienced great tethering capabilities on both devices.....I too have an 8310 on ATT and tether at times with good speed.....the 8900 would be a great choice for your tethering needs (unlike many other carriers, TMobile includes free tethering in their basic BB data plan) and TMobile has good customer support as well.....of course, this is providing you have a good TMobile signal at your primary use location.

I have decent signal level at home. The pearl drops internet connection and then a battery pull has to be performed. It does this even when I'm in town with full signal. I'll take a look at the 8900. Might be a little bigger then I would like. Needs to fit in my jean pocket easy and not get crushed when riding horses.

I tether with my T-mo 8900 all the time. Sometimes on line for several hours.

I tether with a 8320 on TMO and experience what you describe having to do a battery pull. I found my problem to be the synch cable. It gets loose after a period of time and just a slight bump and it will disconnect. The problem is when that happens the system doesn't realize the connection was terminated and therefore a reboot is required. Try a brand new synch cable.
