    Media Card Help

I have a 4GB MicroSD in my Curve 8330. After formatting my card I loaded all my Vids, Pics, RingT, Music via mass storage mode. All is good...whenever I would want to view them I would go through media icon and it would properly route me to the correct folder. Now...when I go to Media Icon I have to route I get a list of folders when I click on Pictures and I have to route to get to pictures. Also, when I plug in via mass storage mode, my pictures folder is not there. The same amount of space is taken and when I do a properties on the folder within my BB screen it shows location :Media Card??????Help??

    bpic,

can you please explain in more detail what you mean by "I have to route I get a list of folders when I click on Pictures and I have to route to get to pictures". Perhaps also what you see when you click the Pictures Icon?

    What I see

When I click on the Media Icon, then Click Pictures I see My Pictures and Preloaded Pictures. When I click my pictures I see Camera Icon, .Trashes Folder, Blackberry. I click on Blackberry, I see Camera, Music, Pictures, ringtones, Videos, Voicenotes. I Click Pictures, I see Camera, EMV Cache and Pictures and there my Pics are all in thumbnail.

It used to default right to the Pictures, then Thumbnails folder....I dont know what happened????

It sounds like your folders are a little mixed up. If you explore in Mass Storage Mode from your PC you should see a folder called "blackberry", and in that folder the sub folders for pictures, music, ring tones, etc....can you browse a bit from your PC and confirm what your folder / sub folders contains?

What is VM? Also can you tell me where you are reading the "properties for pics folder"?

Also - is there a pics folder on the card at all?

    Thanks.

Lets try the simplest solution...please power down your device and remove the battery and the media card. Reinsert your battery ONLY and confirm that the pictures you see when you explore the Media app are no longer available. If you have access to an adapter, I would try reading the card directly with the PC, just to see if anything different appears. Finally put it all back together and see if anything changes.

Please advise if you have desktop manager loaded? If so what version?

Here is the issue....I would have you back up and reformat the card with your BB, but unless you can back up your pictures to your desktop we will loose them. If you have DM 4.3 with Media Manager installed, try using the MM application and lets see what it sees on your sc card....

    Thanks for your help!

Well I went home and hooked up to my Mac via Mass Storage Mode and walla, my folders were there...apparently my mac causes some system folders on the media card to rearrange. I saved all the info and reformatted card on PC at work and am back up and running smooth. I guess I wont be using the mac in Mass Storage Mode. Thanks again for all your recommendations!
