Mass storage mode basically allows you to connect the BB sd card to your PC. I keep it turned on and transfer music vids pics to my BB via the PC.
    Device history: 8100 > 8320 > 8900 & 9530. Keep crackin'

    /\ /\ says it all

with this on it allows you to access the Media Card much like you would a Flash Drive when your BB is connected to your PC

For me its in: Options-Media Card, gives you the option to turn mass storage on and off, but I see no real reason to disable it.

I've never noticed any difference in battery life either way, just leave it on and be done with it I'd say.

I set mine to "prompt" because sometimes I plug into my computer JUST to charge the BB. If mass storage is on when plugged into the computer, you cannot access the memory card from the phone.

It really depends on your usage. If you turn it off, you can't access your media card through your pc when you plug in you BB with a usb cable. There's really nothing wrong leaving it either off or on. But, when you have your BB plugged in, and mass storage is on, you can't access some files on the card from the BB, bacause the computer is using it. I have mine set to prompt so it asks me when i plug my BB in. But I don't really see and pros or cons, it's just if you use that feature or not.
