    Looking to purchase a Blackberry...

Hey guys, I will be due for a new phone/plan at the end of June and the Blackberry Curves have caught my attention. Just like to get some basic info on them. Which one and on what network? How is the wifi/internet browsing and hot spots?

My general use for the phone would be text, IM, and internet.

    Thanks!

Which carrier are you with? That'll narrow it down quite a bit.

The big screen & full keyboard of the Curve makes text, IM and internet enjoyable.

You should just wait for the release of the new Blackberry Bold

I have Verizon now, but they dont seem like the cheaper of the bunch when it comes to unlimited data/texting plan.

If you're looking for a wifi curve, then you'd have to go with TMO. Although the data speeds are not as fast as the other networks, you can't beat the pricing on data/text. And the wifi kinda makes up a little bit for the speed.
If you want to wait till about July, then the Bold from AT&T would be the latest and the greatest, and a great way to jump into the Blackberry club.

Is the Bold going to be released in July? That would be when my plan is up. I was looking at the 8320 on T-Mobile. 60 bucks a month for a plan where as any other network its at least 70(with unlimited txt/data) and you don't get as many minutes.

I love TMO. Have you ever had a BB before? Their daya plans are the cheapest and the c/s is great. But, they are usually 2nd in line for new phone releases. But I figure that just gives them time to perfect the device and tweak it alittle better than the other guys. The Curve prices are dropping like crazy right now with the carriers. I would do my homework to get the best deal.

Tmo may have the best data prices, but you got to keep in mind the speed of the network you are paying for. Its really a get what you payfor when it comes to data on the 3G networks vs 2G tmo. Don't get me wrong, I hate paying through the nose for data, but I do a lot of tethering, and really notice the difference. If you can wait till the bold comes out I would get that since its got all of the above when it comes to features...

    Just my 2 cents

I thought I read a post from jonnyedge that said TMO has 3G capability, just no 3G phones. He said an unlocked Bold would work on TMO.
