    Lock and Turn Off Screen

I don't like using the holster with my 8700c, and I set my side key to run Lock. This way I can just shove it into my pocket.

Is there anyway to lock and turn off the screen in a single click?

    Thanks, Gary

in the home screen press and hold the * key. also there's a cool application call autolock. when the screen turns off it autolock your pearl. I'm not sure it would work with the 8700 tho

Single click, I don't know, but you could lock the phone and push the power button twice. That's more steps than you'd like though.

Thanks for the welcome for my first post. Long time Treo user, and had to switch as work only supports BB. Honestly, I always was a BB hater, but it's grown on me so much in the last week I like it better than my Treo, and would rather have a BB. But, that's probably also a factor of BES.

I mapped my side key to lock, and know I can use Alt+Enter, but it doesn't turn off the screen. I have to hit the screen off after I lock it.

I'll have to take a look for that. If not, I guess it gives a reason to learn J2ME... I wouldn't think it would be that hard to lock and turn off the screen.
