Yes it's included in the JL_Cmder download. It is also included in the BlackBerry JDE package available from RIM.

It allowes you to wipe the device clen, just in case you had a bad installation or the software bricked. It is not something that is used regualry, but it is a great tool, I am glad they have it!

There are other uses for java loader, including installing and uninstalling apps/themes/etc without using DM. Search this forum, there are detailed instructions.

One thing I discovered, a theme installed using JL does NOT show up in the DM app loader list and, in fact, DM uninstalls it automatically. Kinda frustrating if you ask me.

That's the same for everything! Things that I installed on my mac don't show up when I am running windows dm and vise versa! I guess BB is a one computer loving device... Well more one software

What do you expect it to do, if it wasn't installed by app loader using the ALX file, or the alx file isn't on the list, App loader doesn't have any knowledge of where to find it to reload it. One of the problems with Solid State Hard drive memory is that in order to clean up the memory, it requires it to be set to a blank state. Therefore Apps loader has to have knowledge of it.
