Re: Is Suretype easy to learn?

It was for me. I'd say it took about 2 or 3 days to get comfortable with it and about 2-3 weeks to get to the point that I can type as fast on it as I was with my 7290.

If your wife keeps her phone in her purse, she may not care so much about the slimmer footprint of the device. But as a man who keeps his phone in his pocket, the 7130 was perfect. It looks like the 8100 will be even better.

I think sure type makes it easier to BB while driving.

It is easy to learn Jim. However, I find that I have to go back and review my messages before I send them because suretype doesn't always give you the right word. The one that happened most often with me was "are" and "see". You get used to it though.

From what I've read in the 8100 reviews, its an enhanced version of suretype which has the bugs worked out. I just may buy this phone for us. My wife wants to get rid of the bulky 7520 she has.

I have the 7100, took a few days to learn the suretype as I had a qwerty prior. Now I wont go back. I do have BBSpell to correct the annoying mix-ups such as see/are get/hey etc.

I've heard great things about suretype. I think I'll go with the pearl. If I don't like it, I'll sell them on here and get 8800's.

I don't know about going from BB-qwerty to SureType, but if you're going from a regular mobile with 12 keys and multi tap or iTap or T9, SureType is a blessing.

Though, there obviously is a bit of a learning curve.

And I'm not so concerned with are/see, top/too, get/hey...the worst one by far is open/porn.

And though SureType is supposed to remember...it doesn't seem to me to be too good at remembering for me. Especially on those listed above!!

Re: Is Suretype easy to learn?

I went from a full keyboard 7730 to the 7100 series and the learning curve for me was one day. I still go thru my custom wordlist (which I erased by accident this morning :cry and clear out all the proper names, misspelled words, and words I will never use in messages.

Suretype-4-eva! I have that tattooed on my shoulder. For the mere fact that a person can reply to a message without even looking at the keyboard on a suretype makes me love it. I can write an email while driving and keep my eyes on the road the whole time. I-Heart-Suretype<----on the other arm.
