My 8700g is my first BB but I have been using Pocket PC's pretty much since they were invented and moved to a PPC phone when they came onto the market.

Yes it is. I had a PDA and it was great for that period of my life but it would be hard to live without my BB. I really had my heart set on the Treo but I didn't purchase it because I didn't want to lose my direct connect option. I am so glad that I went with the BB. Otherwise, I wouldn't have met such a wonderful community of BB users.

I was a Nokia fan for a while but grew tired of the slow UI. I needed a phone that worked well as a phone but also had smartphone capabilities. I didn't know BB's fit this description but decided to check them out. I'm so glad I did as my Pearl does exactly what I needed.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ Need to update this post. As of now I'm sim swapping between 2 devices. My SK3 is for the daytime because it has AIM and MSN. My Pearl is for weekends, nights or whenever I want to chat on BBMessenger or Google Talk. I hope to get a second sim card soon so I don't have to keep swapping.

Re: Is bb your first smartphone?

My first smartphone is an O2 XDA Exec, absolutely hated it, the thing was huge and people laugh at me when I am talking on the phone with it, the os was slow, the battery life was horrible, but I do miss the calendar, contact and one note sync though, I don't like carry two phones, and I think bluetooth thingy is stupid.

I had a E61, really like the keypad, the screen and design, however, just like most Nokia phones, the cpu is just not fast enough to cop with the phone.

I currently have a 7230, got it from work, but on Monday I think everyone is upgraded to 8700, next month I am thinking of getting a pearl myself.

The blackberry I have (8703e) is my first smartphone. I can't tell you how hard the decision between the Motorola Q and the Blackberry. Once I held the Q, I found it to be far TOO thin. The Blackberry just rests easily into my hand.

    Haven't been without it since.

Re: Is bb your first smartphone?

A blackberry was my first smartphone.. I went through 3 different ones at my last job. Came here, tried a blackjack (hated it) and went back to a BB (pearl).
