I had the Nokia 9290. Great little (well, not really little) smart phone with great capability. Since it was Symbian, it had lots of 3rd party software available. Anyone else had one?

I'll join the many others in saying that the Pearl is my first smartphone. After this, I cannot see myself going back to a regular cell phone.

How did I ever live without it in the first place?

I was using a Nokia E60 for awhile. However the symbian OS was very slow. If it had been faster I may have kept it. But then again, that was prior to my BlackBerry experience. So, I'm glad that it did not satisfy my needs as I may never have tried a BlackBerry.

Especially since I find BlackBerry's to be truly fun, stable and reliable.

    I really like my 7130c....

    Nope,
It's my second...I had the Tmo MDA. Din't like it much. It was between the Pearl and SDA.
I'm still not sure I made the right choice.

Do you need help with certain features on your Pearl?

    Yes.

    Nextel 7510
    Nextel 7520
    Cingular 7290
    cingular 8700c

After surveying the PDA landscape in 2003 for PDAs that worked wirelessly, decided the speed penalties of working on more ubiquitous mobile phone data networks was better than the faster, but less ubiquitous WiFi (802.11 wireless ethernet) networks. At the time the BB seemed to be the most advanced and stable for business users. Also the PIM functions were deemedsufficient though not flashy.

In the end sufficient and getting the job done win out. Profit!

My first was a audiovox 6600 which had problems of hard resetting itself, then I upgraded to the audiovox 6700 with the unstable WM5. After getting tired of the phone freezing i moved onto the stable BB and went with a 7130e and never going back to a windows device

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ The 7130e is a wonderful device. Windows mobile devices are very unstable. To say the least.

Yes, compared to Treo, Moto-Q & Blackjack, the BlackBerry stands out as the Very Best.

It's far & away the fastest, most stable & reliable smartphone available.

I like having a device that I can count on to work everytime.
