For software, themes, wallpapers and apps, you have all of that in the download sections of pinstack.

For accessories, go to www.seidioonline, eaccess.com www.shopblackberry.com or www.fortte.com. I have bought cases, skins, batteries, battery kits, and skins from these sites.

You will want to get a case, memory card and maybe a screen protector before you buy anything else for it.

Then upgrade the OS so you won't have memory leaking issues. Unlocking vendor themes is easy once you get the hang of changing the vendor code for the model you want to your carrier's code.

If you want to travel and use another carrier's SIM card to save on data and roaming charges, you need to unlock the device. There are many places to get an unlock code if you don't get one from your carrier.

Can't think of anything else right now but that's pretty much what you should get/do to get your BB up and running. Other than getting the BlackBerry Data plan from your carrier.

well as long as you brought it up; i've been seeing many posts and threads concerning these "codes". what does it mean to lock and unlock your phone?...i was thinking that it ment having my own password in it when i power it up but i guess not...can someone explain to me what this locking and unlocking thing is all about? i've never bought a used or stolen phone so i never had to ask before but i keep seeing these threads regarding it and so now i'm a bit perplexed.

~via BB 8100 (wap.pinstack.com)~ The unlock codes enable your phone to be used in another country that offers BB service as I said in my other post. This can save you money on costs of voice and data usage.

Locking the BB by using a password only makes it so that someone who doesn't know the device password won't be able to use your phone if its lost or stolen. After a preset number of attempts to guess this password, your BB will be wiped of all information and they can use it to run up your account if the account isn't suspended.
