I'm in Houston too, and I plan on riding the storm out! If it were up to me, I'd be in Galveston fishing right now! I've done it through a tropical storm before, but never a cat 3 hurricaine! The fishing is great a day or so before the storm hits! Ok seriously,I hope everyone is safe and I hope that you all will pray for and with us all that are in the Houston and surrounding areas! May God have mercy on us!!

our weather man told us the same thing. But he keeps saying you never know it can always shift south again. There sure are a lot of hurricane parties though!

I'm here in Katy, we're hunkering down. I rode out alicia many years ago and this looks to be very similar. However, since I'm not in an evacuation zone (only some parts of houston are) I'm staying put. They are asking everyone not in an evacuation zone to stay put for now. If power stays out for a while, I will head out to some friends up north. Now the family house that is on the beach in surfside (freeport, 40 miles down from san luis pass) I'm afraid I will never see again. Lots of good memories there, but no sense in crying over something mother nature throws your way. For everyone that is in this area, stay safe.
