will rim ever make a devise run on an hspda network? there comming out with this new 8300 and many different versions of the 8800 everything is still running on edge or evdo. im not getting it. does the rim o.s not support it? do they do it to save battery life? im lost as to why rim wont release a product with some blazing speed. any info as to why there holding out. we cant even get 3g? come on rim.

I've heard 2 different rumors of 3G blackberries. One would be an EVDO for Sprint/VZW. Also there's the 9xxx series rumors from Boy Genius supposedly coming out Q4 of 2007. I would love to see 3G in the 8300, but I don't see it happening, BG has an evaluation unit and there's been no mention of it.

Of course they will... Give them some time they're a small company and they're already releasing a number of new BB's as you've already said.

Personally, I'd rather have them get it right rather than rush an unstable 3G device that chews through batteries like everyone else has done. Stability has been one of the major selling points of the BB platform. It wouldn't benefit RIM to undermine that.

I think they have such a device in Australia right now. Not the same network as here in the US as I understand it however.

HSDPA is a mobile telephony protocol. Also called 3.5G (or "3˝G").

It will always be on GSM only???

I googled HSPDA (I don't understand the term anyway LOL) and was presented with sites that talked about HSPDA and HSDPA
