Lightbulb How to: Use your Calendar for Unlimited Alarms

I am a heavy duty sleeper and need a ton of alarms to wake up in the morning.
I currently use MyAlarm (http://lhurtado.vtrbandaancha.net/) with 6 different alarms in addition to the standard BB alarm as well as a few calendar appts to wake up!! I have to trick myself into waking up even with the MyAlarm random code generator on. (i have actually pulled my battery out while half-asleep numerous times instead of typing in the code...lol) So instead of snoozing one calendar appt, I have set up multiple consecutive calendar appts

Here is how to use the calendar to go off every single min in any given time frame.

Go To Calendar > press Menu key > scroll to Options > set default reminder to 0min
In setting this up I also have the snooze disabled
Press Escape key > select Save

Now that you're back in Calendar > press Menu Key again > scroll to New (appt)

    Scroll to start time
(We'll use 8:01am for example for the appt)

Scroll to the first half of the time listing (hour mark)

Using the keypad press the number 8 key

Now scroll to the right (to the minute listing) and press the number 1 key
(recently realized you can type numbers in, as opposed to scrolling thru 15 min increments)

Time should now say 8:01am for start time
(you can type letter "A" or "P" on the morning or evening portion as well)

Now scroll down to duration, press 0 on the hour mark (and 0 on the minute mark if need be)

So now your start time and end time are exactly the same, as well as the default reminder is set to 0min

I work Monday - Friday so I set up Weekday occurences
Scroll down to Recurrence > press trackball on "none"
Scroll to "Weekly" > Press Trackball in > scroll down to days of the week
Scroll to "M" > Press trackball in
Scroll to "T" > Press trackball in
Scroll to "W" > Press trackball in
Scroll to "M" > Press trackball in
Scroll to "F" > Press trackball in
Now below it should say : Occurs every week Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri.

Press Menu Key (or escape key) > Select Save

Thats all for the first appt.
Basically you just repeat the process as many times as you would like. For example:
    8:02am
    8:03am
    8:04am
    8:05am
    8:06am
    8:07am etc....

It seems like alot of work, but really its not.
Once you're in the groove, it'll take less than 20 seconds to set each one up.

Now just so we are all on the same page, I'm a BIS user and I don't synch with Desktop Manager very often. By doing this, if you synch through Desktop Manager, your outlook will get a ton of consecutive appts, just so you're aware. Same goes if you are on a BES and your calendar has wireless synch enabled.

If you're fine with that, another way to set this up would be to just create the appts and recurrence rules in outlook, then synch back to the BlackBerry.

Now if only the different calendar appts could have different tones associated with them
(similar to MyAlarm), that would be awesome.

So basically I hear the opening song to Dexter every weekday for ten consecutive minutes before MyAlarm kicks in with 6 more alarms with different tunes.

My thought process is that 10 min of alarms will wake me up enough to be able to type (without removing the battery while half asleep )random codes into MyAlarm.

I could probably sleep through a tornado. lol
Next I should figure out a way to rig my BlackBerry to trigger a bucket of water to dump on my head each morning. I would have no problems waking up to that.

No Prob, just doing my part

side note: you can title each callendar appt as well.
I like to trash talk myself awake.
    for example

1st alarm : time to get up
2nd alarm: you're gonna be late
    3rd alarm: GET UP NOW!!!!

    etc...
