    Re: How to download?

^^No obsidian .jad files are for OTA install only, sorry. 4ntimatter you will need to load these via your BB you won't be able to load via PC unless the files are in .alx or .cod format.
Go to the download link with your BB and open your browser and you should be able to download this way.

Thanks a million Lavagirl. (i'm sure your a hottie)
I was trying to download games from a mobile game site.

2 more questions if you have the time.

    1) does that count for .jad and .jar

    2) why does it let me download to my pc?

    Thanks again lavagirl.

    Re: How to download?

Yes .jad or .jad files are meant for ota.

A pc handles file types differently, there is really no restrictions on a pc on the limitation other than the program needed to recongnize the differnet file types and execute the commands from a pc or mac.

Taken from regor99's post is another option.

    Instructions Step by step

Download the jad/jar file onto your desktop.
Check it has the right extension by right click and check properties on the file. The download might need unziping.
Connect your blackberry to Desktop Manager
Open your Media Manager application in Desktop Manager
In the right hand windowMake a new folder in My Blackberry/Device Memory/Games
Using the right side of your media manager copy your JAD/JAR files into the folder.

You must follow EXACTLY these instructions

Open the Media application on the blackberry
press the right button next to the trackball
    Click explore
    Track down to Device Memory
press the left button next to the trackball
    Click Open
Track down to your /Games Folder
press the left button next to the trackball
    Click Open
    Select the JAR file
    Select "Download"

The Application will load on to your blackberry and is now available in your application menu.

I've also found using this method that I can load to my media card games/HTML files/Text files/PDF and read them but you must the EXPLORE,OPEN menus to see them otherwise the pearl does not see the files.

    Re: How to download?

Thanks for the fast reply Srl.

My Roxio Media Manager via my Desktop Manager doesn't seem to be able to see the .jad or the .jar files.

I've tried accessing it through my desktop and random folders in my desktop.
I'm trying to access the files with the "folders tab" on the left window of the media manager, which displays the files on the right window. but it's not seeing the files. The Games folder is created and I can access it in my blackberry via explore.

I've tried dragging it from my desktop straight onto the right media window in the media manager.
The folder on the left window is called (blackberry 8100-PIN:2507C310 [Device Memory]) which now has the folders: Games, Pictures, Ringtones, Videos. these four folders are displayed in the right window.

Not sure if this is important but I have four windows in my Media Manager. Top left and right, and bottom left and right.

Sorry If i'm posting loads of irrelevant crap.

I'd be so happy if I could get this to work.
