I bought my 8830 on eBay for $400. It was brand new with $150 worth of accessories. I was only 6 months into my contract with Verizon and they quoted me a retail price of $500 for the 8830 alone. I also purchased it within 3 weeks of it's debut. At the time, it was a steal. I would probably do it again because I love my 8830.

I got my new 8310 from AT&T for Free. Paid approx $40 for sales tax, shipped FedEx overnight at no charge.
Best of all it's RED my favorite color, as well as being the best BB model I've had. Build quality is excellent, functionality is superb. Overall this ones so good that I may use it for a year or more, which is saying a lot considering I'm always buying new ones every few months. However, this is the first one out of the last eight, that meets all of my needs perfectly. And after a couple months of usage there is every indication that this one is completely reliable & likely to stay that way. A very good feeling. It's a keeper.

I bought my 8700g about a month ago on eBay, for $90 (with shipping). It came with the battery, box, charger and wired mic/earphone. I was hooked after the first day or two and just bought a 8800 on eBay, for $137 (with shipping).

It's locked to AT&T, so I'll have to pay another $13.99 to get the code (also on eBay), but still a great deal. I'll sell the 8700g and probably get around $120 out of it, when everything is said and done.

My curve 8310 directly from AT&T was free after $100 mail in rebate. They had a 50% off sale on all phones and I had a $100 instant rebate card which made it $100 out the door and a grand total of $0.01 in anoter week or so. Pretty dang good deal in my eyes haha.

Got my pearl for fee and with a $50 mail in rebate. So basically I got paid to get my BB. It's the best phone I've ever had to boot.
