How many of you password protect your BlackBery -- and is it by choice? (i.e IT policy)... and do any of you password protect your personal BB?

I do and I enforce it on all my BES blackberry's I have at work.
The young man knows the rules, and the old man will enforce them!

Absolutely. I enforce it through my BES to all devices as well. I don't care how much they whine and complain about having to unlock it. They either deal with it or they don't get to have a BB.

I don't password protect mine either. I probably should. Never really thought about doing it. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I've never done it on any of my smart devices but have just recently made the decision to now password protect it. With all my personal emails, and instant access to myspace and facebook it just seems like its worth the hassle now to have it locked rather than to loose it and worry about somebody getting access.

I have always put a password on my phones since my original 3390. I use dual passwords (sim and phone) on the ones that have it capable. After getting 3 lost units back (stolen ones never show back up) I have been religious about it. I have also been happy about the units that did get stolen not being useable (Nokia has a third lock that activates when the original sim is removed and another is put in it's place).

After thinking about it, it would be nice if BB devices had the same feature for sim card exchanges.

that would be awesome. assuming it was a password feature and not an automatic lock. sometimes SIMs just mess up...
