How many messages and emails combined?

I just want to know how many messages and emails can the Blackberry hold? I've seen people with over 2,000 unread messages/emails combined!!! Does it slow down your BB or even deletes the messages/emails on it's own?

    Just curious!

Good question, I've never hit a capacity on my phone, but I only save messages for 30 days. But I am sure it does effect the speed of the phone when you have 2000 messages in there. But I really can't tell any differences on mine when i have 500 messages compared to none. But thats just me.

I have upwards of 5,000 emails on my BB. I sync all my folders. I've never had an issue with it slowing anything down. My messages database is less than 5 MB.

I have like 1600 personal emails and 900 sms.and 1200 work emails. Its pretty fast stil. If it slows down I delete the logs. By pressing alt+L+G+L+G and clear my browser cache. Works faster afterwards.

So far I have 183 messages/emails and I know that's nothing compared to you guys. I haven't noticed a difference at all.

Thanks guys, I was just wondering.

I have had over 21K @ one point, it seemed to lag a bit then. I tend to stay less than 200 normally and it never lags!

I don't think you can, but when we say how much messages we have. We usually mean the unread messages that aren't open. So like I said I have 183 (unread messages) currently, but I have more because of the ones that are open and already read.

I delete most of the mail on the BB, and important stuff stays onthe servers or computer.

If you want to see the message amount/total.. Go to options... Scroll down and click on status, hit menu and select database sizes

I once had 3K SMS on a 7105t. I forgot to turn Upoc SMS delivery to my phone off one night. I went to try to use my phone the next morning and got an error and had to reboot my phone.

Wow, I never keep that many messages. I usually read them and delete them. Might keep them for a day or so if I've got some sort of back and forth thing going on. I think most I ever had was about 100, and 3/4 of those were SMS's with my sister when trying to plan something out for the parents.

At one point with my first Curve I had six email accounts that each had around 3.5k messages plus 1k sms (I didn't delete any messages at that time) plus 900 calls in the log. After spending 3 weeks constantly fighting a memory leak I took a look at the database sizes and found my issue. Now I store only the last 30 days and currently have just over 1k emails, 111 sms, and 123 calls with about 12mb free.
