I've owned a Siemens SK65 (With Blackberry Built In). I guess you can consider that a BB. It's what got me hooked on it. Then i bought a used 7280. and i just recently got a new 8700r for my hardware upgrade. I still carry my Nokia 6620, Audiovox 5600, iPaq hx2755 and\or a RAZR. depends what kinda mood i'm in.

Re: How many BB's have you owned?

Twheeler, I can say that switching from a 7730 to a 7100t and most recently to a 7105t is the best thing I could have done and for several reasons:

    1) Screen quality: On my 7730, the screen was very difficult to read without the backlight on 24/7/365; no problems with the 7100s. I like the feature of the 7105t where u can dim or brighten the screen as needed. The problems with the 7730 screens led to my next issue.

    2) Battery life: On the 7730, I got only a few days use because I had to have the backlight on constantly to see the screen. I don't really remember how long the 7100t battery lasted without it being connected to the pc (I think 2 weeks on battery power alone). I got 2 days heavy use from my 7105t not connected to my pc. I use the 7105t much more than I did the 7100t. That's why there's a huge difference.

    3) Signal quality: I was NOT able to travel with either 7730 at all. I was gone on a cruise last year and lost without my 7730. I had to use the ship's internet cafe to check my email. I am hoping to get better signal from my 7100's (including the 7105t) if I ever travel like that again. I took my 1st 7100t to camp with me last year (I work at a camp for disabled people) and had no problems using text or IMs at all. I have even better signal (than any of my Sidekicks) in my own house on the 7100 series.

    4) Form factor: I hated the way the 7730 felt in my hand (felt like a brick). I didn't use it as a phone because of this (and due to losing the earpiece). I also have a tendency to drop my phones if they are too big (I dropped all my BB's, all 5 of my Pocket PC's, and all 3 of my Sidekicks quite frequently). The BlackBerry's have withstood this abuse but the smaller models (7100 series) fit better in my hand when texting or calling especially one handed using SureType.

    5) SureType vs a full keyboard: This is a time saver in case I have to finish a message in a hurry. I mastered SureType within an hour of receiving my first 7100 series BB. I have gotten even faster on my 7105t thanks to the contoured keys. I don't even have to look at the keys while typing thanks to SureType. I had to constantly look at the keys with the 7730's. Plus typing one handed is a huge plus when I am multitasking (i.e. eating and BlackBerrying. I am right handed so the BB is in my right hand and whatever else I am holding is in the left hand).

    6) Applications and software: Unless I just wasn't aware of the amount of software and applications for the 7730, I couldn't find much. Now on my 7100 series, I have found games, messengers, themes, applications, etc. This is what keeps me addicted to my BB. Only software I'm not familiar with is BlackBerry Enterprise Server since I don't work for a corporation that uses it.

All in all, I can say that I have had a much better experience with the 7100 series and I am happy that I came back to BlackBerry (I gave it up for a few months and used other phones/devices).

Need to make a correction. I forgot about the 950 I still have that's somewhere between 2 and 4 years old (I don't remember when I got it). So this brings the total to 6.

2 - 7100t for 6 mos., and then upgraded to the 7105t (better / bulletproof screen, better keyboard feel, adjustable light, etc.), and will get the 8700 when it comes out (full key board and 'coolness')
    Baggman 8800??, 8700g now, 7105t recent, 7100t past
Holding on, the light of night, on my knees to rise and fix my broken soul. Again.

Re: How many BB's have you owned?

    2. On my second one now. The first one I had was the 7105 because I wanted to finally get a Blackberry. But along came the 8700 (Which was the one I initially wanted), so I had to feed the addiction and get it. Probably won't be moving on from it for atleast a year if not longer, because we are madly in love with each other.

LOL The sad part is that I feel the same way about my 7105t but I STILL WANT an 8700g.

This is my first (8700c); if I upgrade, my son will get it. He can't wait.
