I had been with Nextel for about 3 years and I was tired of the boring phones. When the 7100i came out I upgraded to it and have been using BB ever since.

My story is a little odd. When I was working at Home Depot about 2 years ago, my coworkers and I would joke about how the district managers where so cool with their blackberries. Even though they were old 7xxx series berries. Now I look back and they're not that cool. But it sort of became a contest about who would get one first. Well, I had Nextel at the time and the 7100i had just come out. So I snagged that and being a natural tech-head, I was hooked. I got the 8700g the day it came out and now I've got the Curve.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~well I am truly new to BBs. Searching for an escape from suncom and made the jump to verizon. They simply have the best signal quality where I live. I have used PDAs since the early days of Palm, and just dropped my dell axim so I could have everthing in one spot. So far I love it, have not been able to put the thing down.

Yeah, they're very addicting. My entire life is in my BB. Only thing I really use my computer for now is to surf the web ( because nextel has crappy connection to the net) and also to load applications and other good to my bb.

Re: How Did You Start Using BBs

My friend started using an 8700 on Tmobile for work and he always was telling me how awesome it was. I played with it a few times and it was ok, I had an 8125 at the time and it seemed like I could just do more with my phone. I am more of a consumer so a camera and media capabilities are not just a plus but nearly a necessity. He got rid of the 8700 in favor of a Curve and for the first time I became interested in the BB. I didn't like the keyboard and the 8800 was just too big for me. I was on AT&T waiting on the Iphone to replace my 8125 and then the Curve dropped. I saw one and had to have it, picked it up and never looked back. It destroys the Iphone IMO though I may pick up one of those too.

Just the fact that you can send/recieve email straight from your phone gets me all the time.
Coming from a SKII, I'm overly satisfied with the 8100s build and reliability. I'm looking forward to the pearl II.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I am new to BB altogether. I was due for a phone upgrade about thee months ago and had been telling myself that I was going to hold off and upgrade when the iphone came out. But after thinking about it I thought better of it since the technology was so new and I didn't want to be a guniea pig at the high cost of $600-$800. My phone at the time was the Motorola ROKR. I liked it but I am a gadget geek and I wanted more toys on my phone. So, in I walk into my local Cingular store. The girl there let me play with several phones. None of them really did what I was looking for and the few that did (other BB's) were bigger than what I wanted to have strapped to my hip. Finally she showed me the Pearl. After about two minutes the clouds opened, the sun came out, and beautiful music began to be played by the anheld in Heaven. I was hooked to say the least. I had found what I was looking for and I will never be without my BB ever.

LOL I feel the same way about regular phones.

Anyway, after using regular phones for awhile, I got a 950 in 2001 (I THINK) for AOL's Mobile Communicator Service (mobile email and AIM) and used other phones after it was discontinued. In 2005 I got the 7730. After going thru 2 of them, and switching to the 7100t, I became hooked on SureType (using a full keyboard at the time was horrible and the screen and battery life SUCKED). I have since used 2 more 7100t's, 2 7105t's and 1 additional 8100 Pearl (I'm on my 2nd Pearl now).

Family member has one, I constantly played and checked my email on his BB (when the computer was occupied) that I decided to get my own and this is the best move I've made!

    It's been 2 months since I got my 8800.

Re: How Did You Start Using BBs

i've been selling phones for all my working life, and remember going to all the training on BB when it first got to Australia. I fell in love with the product, but it took a while to take off over here (mainly because 1 carrier had it, and didn't market it right)
I had a BB given to me by aforementioned carrier, and hooked it up - still loved it, but couldn't justify paying for it every month for the volume of email that went through it, and the fact i was at a desk 95% of the time.

now in corporate sales and live on it! (work funded now of course)

now it's my job to sell as many of the little buggers as i can, and help BB addiction take over the world
