Question how to change ugly green-white stripe background?

I'm ussing blackberry 8830 and had no problem changing the wallpaper of main screen. However, the default background when I read sms text or compose e-mail really annoys me. Is there any way to change this background or at least get read of this default backgroun stripe image?

I have an 8130 so I'm not familiar with the issue you are asking about with a striped background in the Messages. Do you mean the grey stripe that goes left-to-right? If that is what you mean, you can probably change that under Options \ General Options \ Separators (Stripes, lines, none)

Under Security Options go to General Settings. About half way down the list there's an option for "Message Background Colours". I think this is what you're looking for. Set them both to NONE.

(This is not device specific. This is just an option for Blackberrys so you can more easily differentiate between your "default" email account from the rest of the messages that come in.)

Interesting, I don't have that in Options \ Security Options \ General Settings.

Actually, I THINK it might only be used for BES users. Does that make sense? Do you have a BIS account?

I searched google so many hours but couldn't find a solution before.
Thanks Woody68. I followed your suggestions and the stripe has gone.

Re: how to change ugly green-white stripe background?

Thanks. This info fixed the issue for me also. I had orange diagonal stripes and had no idea why. I use an html email viewer with background color so the stripes only flashed\showed a split second so it was not bothersome much.

Glad to help. I found it quite annoying myself. MrDavv, glad you're using the HTML viewer. Nice, eh?
