Also, after following the tutorial, you can uninstall the 8700g version. You should not loose MM since that is part of the Desktop Manager download and not the OS.

Downloaded the new OS installed, edited the alx load through loader. the loader shows updating current bb os. Phone rebooted, theme still does not work help me screen shows v 4.2.106 not 4.2.114. I have tried reloading 4.2.114 no updates. Also there are two version directories under C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8703e-v4.2.1.106_P2.3.0.20 and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.2.1.114_P2.3.0.88. The apllication loader is only seeing 8703e-v4.2.1.106_P2.3.0.20.

    Any thoughts?

The loader will not see the 8700 OS since you have an 8703e. It will see that one only. Did you move the .cod file to the other java folder as instructed?

Yes, I loaded the Net_rim_bb_dimension-Today.cod. Do you want me to email the Blackberry.alx file? If find it odd that my phone is showing ver 4.2.106 shouldn't it show 4.2.114?

Like I said above, the DM will not load the 8700 OS you downloaded since it is for an 8700 not an 8703, so the OS will remain the same. You only want the .cod file I stated from that download.

    Move the .cod file into the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8703e-v4.2.1.106_P2.3.0.20\java folder from the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.2.1.114_P2.3.0.88\java folder.

Send the BlackBerry.alx file to doughdaddy @ pinstack.com so I can check and edit if need be.

I confirmed that the file was present in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8703e-v4.2.1.106_P2.3.0.20\Java. But it was an older version. Once I moved the file from the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.2.1.114_P2.3.0.88\java updated the device everything worked.

Thank you very much! I will refer anyone with this issue to this post. I owe you.
