    Help! Blackberry seriously broken!!!

When I turn my pearl on I get the error Uncaught exception: java.lang.ClassCastException, and it wont go away so I can't do anything else. I know I need to hard reset the phone but my problem gets worse. My USB port is broken so I can't plug it into my computer and because I can't click anything I can't set up the bluetooth to do it that way. Is there any way to reset the phone using the microSD card, like some kind of self extracting reset file or something? I couldn't find anything on Google. Please help! I don't know what else to do!?

buy a new usb cord. they're really cheap. i think it costs no more than 5 bucks at your local store. they sell 'em like hot cakes. And as far resetting it you need to go advanced options and do a complete wipe. i mean to set it back to manufacturer status.
Good luck! and hopefully you get it resolved.

The usb port on the blackberry or the computer is broken? If its the one on your BlackBerry how do you charge the device. There really isn't any other way to fix the device or anything other then connecting it to a pc with USB

If your USB port on the BB is broken, all hope is lost. You may be able to find third party repair shops in your area, although that would void any warranty at this point. If you have insurance on the device, just pay your deductible to get a replacement. If the USB port is not funtioning (no physical damage) you should try and call the carrier and ask about a warranty replacement if the device is under a year old.

    Hope that helps.

I agree. Your 81 is cooked without the USB port - -

Buying a USB cord is no help if the port on the phone is broken. And he can't get the device to boot up long enough to wipe it. I know from personal experience how frustrating this is. I went thru this 2 years ago on a 7105t. Had to replace it.

Well, you can buy a new usb port for it from cnn. I'm pretty sure you can salvage it.

    Here's the website for it.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ But I have heard it was a tricky repair. It would be best to just upgrade the phone if possible instead of trying to repair it or replace it under warranty. That type of damage will get you slapped with an out of warranty repair charge as its not covered. That happened to me also.

If you got the money or warranty; then my advise to you is to get another one. If not get it; and if you don't know how to do it then forget it and get a cheap one until the new bold comes out

    Hey Pawn,

I have JUST had the EXACT thing happen to my 8100. I am in UK and on O2.

My phone just crashed, I cant click anything at all, so I looked in the forum and found your post.

What are the chances that both of us get the same problem 1 day apart??

    Have you any luck fixing?

I have plugged into my computer and tried a OS update etc with no luck.

    HELP ! !
