Help. Backup data didnt' restore ?

    Hi Group,

Have several add-on applications like Tellme, Mapquest Navigation, etc. I had been doing a regular
"Backup" of my 8830 using Desktop Manager 4.7. I also recently upgraded my OS to 4.5.0.101 and decided to go back to 4.5.0.77. I did a WIPE of the BB and then when I went to restore my applications and data using the Restore command (after re-installing 4.5.0.77), most of my 3rd party applications were gone !!!

I thought that a Backup was suppose to backup everything. It did restore my addresses, contacts, memos, etc., but none of my 3rd party stuff !!

Any tips on whether its possible to retrieve them. Tips for really doing a complete backup ? I think I really messed up somehow.

    Thanks,

    Tony

    Tony,
From my experience DM has not ever backed up 3rd Party software so I make a list of what I have and serials or activation codes and just redownload them after a wipe. However I did see a thread on how you back up 3rd party apps here it is:

How to Backup 3rd Party Apps (by PDXMATTS)

    Hope this helps,
    Hank

Wow Hank, that thread and your comments help alot. I didn't realize that the 3rd party apps were not being backed up. I've learned the heard way for sure. I came from a series of Palm devices, so I made some erroneous assumptions. I've got most everything back up and running as of this morning. Still can't get my Roxio media module to work right, but I'll figure it out eventually. Guess I'll need to re-install the 4.5.0.77 OS again with the Roxio.

    Thanks,
