Re: Having Problems with your Blackberry Recently? Post Here

    Type Of Blackberry: 8100 Pearl
    Your Service Provider: T-Mobile
Your Operating System: v4.2.0.64 (Platform 2.2.0.37)
    Your Location: Los Angeles, CA

Your Problem: Volume on handsest defaults to off (lowest setting) and need to turn it up every time I make or receive a call. I've already had my Blackberry replaced for this problem, only the previous time the volume did not work at all when I turned up the volume button on the right side. Whe I received the replacement, it had the problem before I had a chance to do anything to it, i.e. settings, etc. HELP!!! I do not want to keep sending my Blackberry back to only have the same problem again!! What to do? Are there any default settings for the volume that can be reset or any other options I can change or reset??

    Thanks!

You need to try a hard reset.
Leave your BB on and pull the battery, leave it out for >30 sec and replace and allow to re-boot.

If this does not work you may have to re-install your OS.

    Gaz.

Re: Having Problems with your Blackberry Recently? Post Here

Just an update: I went thru a second 7105T which finally stopped working because of a trackwheel issue. HOWEVER, for future reference to anyone with a Pearl, as I just went thru this:

BB Model: Black 8100 T-Mobile Pearl
    Wireless Carrier: T-Mobile USA
    OS: 4.2.1.66 (Platform 2.3.0.57)
    Location: Missouri City, Texas USA

Problem: BlackBerry CRASHED after attempting an OS upgrade.

Solution: I realized the problem after I disconnected the BB from the PC before the upgrade was finished (I was going out of town for Spring Break weekend). My Pearl had the red LED flashing twice every few seconds. Then it did nothing.

When I got back home I tried to connect the BB to the PC without the battery with no results. I inserted the battery and SIM card (after uninstalling and everything related to BB). Reinstalled the DM first then the OS. Connected the BB back to the PC. Took awhile but I finally got my Pearl back.

Another problem I need help with this time.

BB Models: Black T-Mobile Pearl AND 7100T
    Wireless Carrier: T-Mobile USA
    OS: 4.2.1.66 (Platform 2.3.0.57) on Pearl; OS 4.1.0.309 (Platform 1.8.0.146) on 7100T
    Location: Missouri City, Texas USA

Problem: 2 BlackBerrys will connect to Moto H500 BT headset but the headset will NOT answer a phone call. I have re-paired the phones with the headset and still no success. Odd thing is when I first got the headset (a complete surprise gift from my mom) it paired fine and answered calls.

Solution: Re-paired the phones to the headset. Headset blinks for several hours than stops but the BB still blinks.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

Sounds like a DOS attack against RIMs servers to me, or a hardware problem at their servers

My 8703e has been powering itself off for no apparent reason at least once a day for 2 weeks. Thats the only problem, but it's frightening.

I got my pearl when it first came out. (TMO) I was a little hesitant, knowing first models rolled out usually have bugs, but mine (knocking on wood) has been problem free!!!!!!!!
