Question Have you shared the RIM gospel?

While browsing the stacks this week I was struck by how many people on PinStack can lay claim to converting people to BlackBerry devices.

It inspired me to start a thread for those who are faithful carriers of the Gospel of RIM.

How many people have you converted? Select option in the poll and let us know how many lives you have "saved".

(If you happen to be a sales rep that deals with RIM devices please make sure you indicate this in your response.)

I use to work for 3 different wireless carriers, years ago. In the last 8 years -counting only in-person - I've converted at least 100 persons towards the BlackBerry addiction most when working with carriers even though I was in the IT departments. I started with the BlackBerry 6230.

I work for a Independant dealer of Telus, so I've converted a lot of people to BlackBerry from regular PCS phones, and also converted others that owned Palm Treo's, Moto Q's, and others. :-D

Work definitely counts! Who doesn't love to get paid for selling something they really believe in? (especially if you are converting from Palm or Window OS )

I seem to remember a teacher telling a story when I was younger about the man who was searching for that perfect jewel to spend his fortune on. The story says the man searched and searched and one day found a Pearl. The man was so excited that he went and sold all that he had to purchase this Pearl (it really does seem this way at times) and when he bought the Pearl he stopped searching.

His friends asked him one day, "why did you stop your search could there not be a better gem out there?" and his response was this: "When you've spent your life searching for something, and you finally find it, you will know it."

Gotta say, this story agrees with you Cherri. In that sense, they really didn't have a choice.

I put 1 but I am about to convert my mom into a BB user when her upgrade comes up. I think I have only converted one person and that was thru an AIM chat when I used my SK. The person I was talking to kept having signal issues. Next thing I know, a few weeks later, he had a BB.

Re: Have you shared the RIM gospel?

My posts here are a dead giveaway that I'm a big BB advocate.

While I do not sell them, & I'm not counting that I brought them into the business I created, I speak to a lot of people daily.

In my sphere of influence I was the first person to try one 18 months ago. Now based on my enthusiasm, passion & total belief in RIM & the BB platform, no fewer than 14 of my friends bought them for personal use. That was all within my first month of ownership. The BB's were so much fun & enabled us to stay in such close contact that now we number 21 friends with BlackBerrys!

Re: Have you shared the RIM gospel?

While I love my 8130, I go with what works for me. I mostly used WM smartphones in the past, even a Palm for a short period. I don't convert anyone, I just answer honestly when asked.

At the moment, BB works for me.
