Got iPhone and need to transfer my 8700 contacts on it

    Hi All

I've got an iphone and I need to have a copy of my BB 8700G contacts on it but the real problem is that many of the contacts have multiple phones some named Work, some named work 2 and so on
so when depending on Lotus notes or Outlook they don't take all the fields.

Any Ideas of how to correctly do this ?

I personally don't know the answer but someone else on the forum may be able to help. Do you have your contacts backed up so that - worse case scenario - you can add the extra numbers? Or do they only show one number on your pc/mac?

Yes I do have the backup, the only problem is that I have around 1200 contacts most of them with more than one phone number

Most places like where you bought your cell phone can transfer the #'s from one phone to another.

    who said so?
I'm gonna keep both, BB is my work phone & mail.

Having only your work phone is such a headache in weekends so I decided to get another one mainly to use in weekends only and as long as I was planning to get an iPod, I bought an iPhone

I feel having another phone is gonna be a dump Idea, isn't it ?

I got my iPhone from USA and I'm not living there, so consequently there're no apple iPhone support where I live.

    wow a few issues.
As for syncing the contacts I do not know if outlook isn't doing it for you.
and to the iPhone from US but outside the country good luck getting/keeping it unlocked (and supported for warranty issues)

Well actually, it's a gift, so I paid nothing

AFAIK unlocking it is working smooth till you update your firmware version, which i don't have to do untill I'm sure it can be unlocked again. I have about 5 friends who are using it for about one or two months now & the phones are fine.

and anyways I can use it as an iPod if it's locked

I hope you figure out your problem and that you enjoy your Blackberry and iphone. I would love to have an iphone to play around with, but, like you, I would definitely keep my Blackberry.

My buddy has an iphone. I have messed with it, other than youtube and such. I don't get it. BB is a lot more user friendly. I guess I would just get the itouch. But won't do that for a while. I bought that 60gig video ipod a couple of years ago for $400. Can't see spending more on another.

May be you didn't notice that it was a gift, I didn't pay a cent on it so whu not & if I'm not satisfied with it I can sell it for more than it's price in USA as it's more than double the price over here where I live

There is no transfering of your contacts. Enjoy typing in all 1200 numbers.
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?

Sync your BlackBerry with Outlook, then use iTunes to sync your iPhone to Outlook.
