Hmm, I have never noticed.
Just joined the BB ranks and love my 8100. I did have one question though...I notice that whenever I load Google on my BB, it always loads Google.ca (Canada), not Google.com (even though that's what I type in.) It does it no matter how I've got my browser set. Anyway, it's not a huge deal, but I was just wondering if there's a way to change this? I've already tweaked every setting I can find on Google and on my BB, with no luck.
Try clearing the cookies on your browser. I had the same problem and this is the only thing I did right before I was able to goto the regular google.com.
BReady ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
All BlackBerry data goes through the RIM infrastructure which is in Canada. So when Google detects what IP your coming from it sees a Canadian IP.
~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Ah, that makes sense. No big deal, I was just more curious than anything. Thanks!

And the only thing that will be affected by the dot ca will be the ads.
You will get the same hits for a search from dot ca as from dot com, but the ads will be targeted to a Canada.
Scroll to the bottom right of the browser page and you should see a link that says "Go to google.com" -- this will bring you to the original google webpage.
This has happened to many, many people in my experience as a Sprint-Nextel employee. Each situation we have changed the ip address of the BB and the problem was solved. Moth, you can call in to your customer care and have them change the ip address, then you should be directed to the correct page.
...our home and native land...
how weird, mines go directly to google.com. maybe its a nextel thing
Love my first BlackBerry (Pearl)!
Thanks guys, this is a great forum! As long as the search hit results are the same, I don't really care if it's going to .ca or .com. Oh, and BTW Lazyboy, I'm on T-Mobile, so it's not just a Nextel thing. I did clear the cache and it seems to go to .com now, but like I said, as long as the search results are the same, I'm not even going to worry about it.
