Having a minor issue with gmail. Whenever I use Gmail to send someone an email a copy of the email I sent is sent to my BBerry inbox. Is this a bberry setting or a gmail thing? Thanks in advance for the help.

    Re: Gmail

I would say its BB setting. This doesnt happen when you send email from other addresses?

If you want to disable this go to > Mail Options > General options> Hide Sent Messages

    Re: Gmail

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ the solution to that issue is to log in to your bis acct and set a filter to have bis not push emails from you to you. I had this same problem when I first set up my gmail acct on my bb

    Re: Gmail

Yeah this is a glitch w/ gmail and bis, though they would have ironed it out w/ bis 2.3 but I guess not.

    Re: Gmail

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~the reason gmail does this is because sent messages are file with all the rest of your mail and not in a seperate "sent" folder. You just have to set the filter not to forward mail from "yourname@gmail.com"

    Re: Gmail

Question: Are you talking about the gmail app or a gmail account set up on your blackberry? If it is number 2, I know the answer, number 1, you got me beat.

Pretty sure number 2. This question comes up quite frequently.

    Re: Gmail

It's #2 for the exact reason that sele stated -- it's a gmail issue because of the lack of folders in gmail. It should be a sticky on every BB forum site (not that anyone would bother to read it ).

    Re: Gmail

As whats been said, because of the way gmail "views" emails, as in a conversation, this is normal. It is not a glitch whatsoever. If you would like to stop this from happening, search around for a way to filter your gmail sent items. Its very easy and takes no more then 5 minutes to do.

    Re: Gmail

    Try this:

Quick fix: You can set a rule or filter on the blackberry account. Log on to your blackberry account.
    a) Select "filters" on the account is doing this
    b) Select "Add Filter"
    c) On the filter name, choose any name you want
    d) On the "Apply filter when" field, select "From" field
    e) On the "contains" field, put your email adress
    f) Select "Do not forward messages to handheld" and click save

    This should do it.

    Re: Gmail

Well I thought I solved it pretty simply. Go to options in messages, e-mail settings, select the e-mail address under message services, then confirm deliver, and confirm read, select as no. The messages you are getting after you send one is a confirmation I believe, I could be wrong but it seems to have worked for me.

This happens all the time when using BIS with gmail (and a filter is not in place to take care of this) -- it's not a delivery confirmation.
