Now that I have seen my Blacberry go dead---just because the battery has run down----prompts me to ask: How do I turn the power completely off? And how do I find that "Full-off Button" that I know I have seen before on the screen? Please help

Hi zekunday. Welcome to pinstack What model BB do you have? The power button should be right there on you screen an should look like a 'switch'.

Your profile indicates you have a 7250, so you should be able to scroll to the power off icon, and click that.

I think that you need to have the alarm clock set to get the option of full power off or power off.

However, the only way to completely turn off a BB is to pull the battery and NOT put it back on.

If the power off/full power off actually turned the power off, then it would take just as long to boot as a battery pull, which it does not.

Power off for a BlackBerry is the same as sleep for a Mac or hibernate for windows.
