Free BlackBerry: If you had your choice

    Which would you choose?

    Poll attached.

This is if you could have any device (IE: Win a device) with no strings attached (IE: Signing a contract with a wireless carrier, etc).

Also, when responding keep in mind, try and not to include the following factors or persuasions:
    *Current device type
*Any type of "Restrictions" that an IT Department may invoke (IE: No cameras, etc)
    *Your wireless carrier

*BTW, Just an FYI: I am actually using this poll as a deciding factor on something.

I voted the BlackBerry 8800, HOWEVER this is only because I'll need to replace my BlackBerry Curve 8300 in the next few weeks with a BlackBerry 8800, which I'm told doesn't have a camera - the Australian Army are shipping me out and they won't allow me to use my BlackBerry Curve 8300 'cause of the camera...

If the camera isn't an issue, go for the BlackBerry Curve 8300 - they're a fantastic device and are solely responsible for making me a CrackBerry addict!

I would love to get a curve! I have an Alltel 8130 and want the Curve when Alltel gets it........sadly my contract doesn't expire for a 1 1/2 years.........so free would be perfect

Don't get me wrong.....I love my 8130.....but would love to try out the bigger screen and full QWERTY on the Curve.....and the bigger memory that appears to be on the new Curve is a huge draw!

For the purpose of this research, I am actually going to mark your vote as an 83 series device, and updating the OP as well.

    Yeah, forget that SureType crap...

I tried it once on the original BlackBerry Pearl when they first came out, and I have a similar setup on my Sony Ericsson M600i - NEVER again, ESPECIALLY after using the keyboard on my BlackBerry Curve 8300!

Honestly, whilst I can type just a few words a minute on the SureType devices (and my M600i, which has a setup that is almost indentical to SureType), I can pound out messages up around 50-ish words a minute on my BlackBerry Curve 8300!

You can do that (manually change the poll results)?

I didn't know that was possible, but you have my full support...

I vote for the 83xx series. But it was an interesting decision for me: I've got a 8100 for round a year and I like it. Also I was fast enough with the suretype. But after the 4th defect of the Pearl I switched over to an 8310. Ok, the devise is a little bit bigger and the keys are a little bit smaler than the Pearl but I can live with that.

My vote is for a free data/calling plan and I'll pay for any of the BB's!

But if I had to choose I'll stick with my Red 8830.

Funny you should mention that, because that's one of the other polls that was considering being posted. PM ME please.

Sorry N8DBB, I deleted my BB messenger to free up memory. I could pin you though.

Wow, I'm always torn because the full keyboard is enticing - but I think I'll stick to my 8120 and the Pearl series... of course, for free, maybe I'd have the incentive to learn to get used to the small buttons on the full keyboard.
