    "Email requires verification"

What the heck? EVERY email I receive immediately shoots the sender back the email saying, "Your email requires verification". The sender then has to follow the instructions and reply to the email without adding anything to the subject or body of the message to verify that they are not spam. It doesn't matter who is sending an email and how many times they have emailed or verified...every email someone sends me will be immediately sent an auto-response to verify that they are not spam.

    What is going on here?

    Re: "Email requires verification"

Which account is this set up on?

It is some type of spam filter that you have on email account...You need to check your settings there...

If you can let me know what email account it is on, may be able to get you more definiative answers...

    Re: "Email requires verification"

Well, the issue arose when I updated my OS. I have the 7100i and I recently updated the software.

I run my work email, AOL, and GMAIL through my blackberry. I never had this issue before the update and was always running the service from there. What do you think?

    Re: "Email requires verification"

Also, pretend someone sends a message to my work account: my blackberry email address (@nextel.blackberry.net) is what is sending back the "Email requires verification". The recipient will then respond to my nextel email. So, the issue is coming somewhere from BlackBerry, not from work, gmail, or AOL.

Which BIS are you on? 1.8 or 2.0?

Have you re-sent the service books?

Try deleting the offensive mail account, send the service books, then add it back and re-send.

Perhaps you should get a Nextel tech to delete your BIS and then you can set it up again fresh.

It is obviously something quirky between the BIS and your BB, related to your upgrade.

Has anyone cracked this issue? It still seems to be happening.

    Re: "Email requires verification"

Ok, I am simply stupid. This is a dead thread, but I will update it should ANYONE be as stupid as me.

All you have to do is turn off "boxtrapper". Boxtrapper is a spam verification tool that you turn on through whomever your email service provider is. Mine was accidentally turned on when we switched email hosts. Turn it off...and no more verification required.

    Re: "Email requires verification"

Thanks for the update with the solution. This should always be done. It can't be a dead thread until this is accomplished, as someone else could have the same problem and now can find the solution with a search.

    Thanks for providing the update.
