Mine is always on. I have programs running in the background, like Viigo, that are updating and I like having all my emails waiting for me when I wake up and my feeds all up-to-date instead of having to wait for my berry to update and start-up in the morning.

There's no point in using the auto on/off feature since it's plugged in when I'm sleeping and in use when I'm not.

When I sleep it put it into Quiet profile, but other than that it's always on and near me. It's like a trusty Stede- never leaves your side.

just to let you all know...it isn't good for your phone's battery to keep it on at all times. if you keep your phone on 24/7 and just charge it the battery slowly dies and loses its full capacity. turning it off for 10 min a day is also good for it to get a fresh connection to a tower when it is turned back on. i do this for my phone:

    off at 7:00AM
    on at 7:13AM

also, i do this while my phone isn't charging (at work/school) because it would still technically be on, or "powered", while charging.

13 minutes because 13 is my fav number (lol) and because i at least get 10 min break for my phone.

think of it this way, would you like to be working 24/7 with no break? i know i wouldnt lol.

What is your source for these statements? I would like a link to the research data that supports this statement.

Mine is on 24/7 although I change the profile to phone only at night so that I don't get insomnia from the dings/beeps from messages but am still accessible by phone in case of emergencies.

    My BlackBerry is always on.

I'm not concerned about the battery because I have over 18 months on my original BlackBerry & it's still going strong. In addition I do not worry about how or when I charge it. I just charge it.
After all, the highly educated engineers at RIM decided to include a clever feature called "User Replaceable Battery"

Unlike some other manufacturer known as Apple....tsk...tsk
