    Device transfer question

Quick question. If I were to give my BB 8310 to my wife, do I need to do anything special to the device before hand? What I need to know is, what do I have to do to make the BlackBerry the same as if it were new, meaning she can set up her own BIS email, the device properly recognizes her SIM and phone number, etc...

I only ask because I have read about people having trouble with used BlackBerry devices never displaying the proper phone number, inability to set up email accounts, etc, and this is essentially the same thing.

    Thanks for any info.

    Ok..Here is what is needed....

First, on the device - go to Options-Security-General -MENU-Wipe Handheld

This will pretty much clean up what you have on the device. Now you still need to go to the AT&T BIS set up page and make sure your email set up is no longer pushed to this PIN. After that she can insert her SIM card, activate her account, and set up all of her emails...

I went to the BIS page and that brought up one more question... How exactly do I release my BB's PIN from my personal BIS info? Do I just delete the email accounts, do I do that and also go into "change device" and erase the PIN listed in there? Something else?

I hate asking these questions because I am actually fairly knowledgeable about BlackBerrys, but I have never tried to transfer ownership of one... Makes me feel like a BB newb...

    Thanks again!

Edit: I haven't just tried doing these things because the transfer, if it takes place, won't happen until the end of the week...
