    Deleting entire address book, or . . . ???

I knew something would go wrong, LOL. I am up and running on Day 1 and all appeared fine. Somehow, I ended up with the Address Book on my BB with 472 entires, all being identical listed as follows:

    <No Name>

    Each entry is completely empty.

How do I delete multiple, more than one, blocks of, or an entire address book on my BB?

    Thank you very much.

    Eric

    this this:

How 2 edit my Address Book using Desktop manager?

While the easiest way to manage your BlackBerry Address Book is to edit your Outlook Contacts and then sync, you can also use the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to edit your Address Book directly. If you do this, when you next sync, these changes will propagate to your Outlook Contacts.

In order to edit your BlackBerry Address Book using Desktop Manager, follow these steps:

    1. Cradle your device. If you have a password enabled, you must enter it before your device will connect to the desktop.

    2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click the Backup and Restore icon to bring up the Backup and Restore dialog box.

    3. Click Advanced... . In the Backup/Restore dialog box, from the "Handheld Databases" field on the right, select Address Book, then click the left arrow button to copy it to the "Desktop File Databases" field on the left.

    4. To open the Address Book for editing on your desktop computer, double-click it in the "Desktop File Databases" field on the left.

    5. The Editing Address Book dialog box opens, in which you can create, edit, and delete entries, or import from your Outlook Address Book or other personal information manager. Click Close when you are finished.

    6. The changes you make only affect the version of your Address Book on your desktop until you transfer it to your BlackBerry, either by clicking the right arrow, or by restoring it as part of a full restore. For instructions on backing up and restoring data on your BlackBerry, see the Knowledge Base document How do I back up and restore Blackberry data?

    Found that here...

Use the clear feature in the desktop manager when following the above instructions

Re: Deleting entire address book, or . . . ???

I did find that information. Thank you.

I do not have a cradle and I left the USB cable that connects the BB with my laptop in the office so I'll have to give this a try tomorrow.

I was just hoping there was an easy (or easier) way to try this. A lot of these moves are overwhelming to me but with all the great help I am getting here, I am sure I'll be fine.

    Thank you again.

No problem. I'll do it tomorrow. First day, so of course I forgot to grab the cable off my desk, LOL.

Believe me -- if I have any problems, I'll know where to go.

    Thank you again.

Took my shot at the above process. Got stuck here:

    4. To open the Address Book for editing on your desktop computer, double-click it in the "Desktop File Databases" field on the left.

It moves over fine and appears on the left, however, it will not open with a double click, a right click, etc.

Any ideas? Do I need to change some settings here? Thanks.

I tried the following and it seems to have worked:

How to: Delete all of the contacts without having to do it one at a time.

Question: I acidentally synchronized with the wrong outlook database and loaded down 1700 contacts into the 7290. How can I delete all of the contacts without having to do it one at a time? Thanks

In order to edit your BlackBerry Address Book using Desktop Manager, follow these steps (On the PC you mistakenly synchronized with):

    1. Cradle your device. If you have a password enabled, you must enter it before your device will connect to the desktop.

    2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click the Backup and Restore icon to bring up the Backup and Restore dialog box.

    3. Click Advanced... . In the Backup/Restore dialog box, from the "Handheld Databases" field on the right, select Address Book, then click the 'clear' button.

    4. Once finish clearing hit refresh.

    Thanks.

    Hey Ti,

If you have Blackberry Desktop Manager version 3.6, you'll be able to edit as stated above.
