    Hi

I am wondering how long it took for data rates in the Us to go from ridiculous to unlimited data for $20 etc

I am in Canada and can't wait for rates to drop to the US prices

It depends on the carrier in the US. Tmobile has unlimited data for 19.99, but ATT is anywhere from 39.99-59.99 per month.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ The lowest price TMo has is $19.99 (BIS AddOn) but their Minutes And Mail packages go up to $79.99 (Enterprise Minutes and Mail). All have unlimited data.

I am in Canada and I get 4mb and 100 minutes and free incoming for $45.00. I know that sounds terrible to some, but I use to get .5 mb so I am happy with 4 mb for now. This plan is good for Canada. Unlimited would be awesome

Yeah, t-mobile is the only one here with any sort of reasonable data plan. I'm paying 60 a month for 1000mins and unlimited everything else.

Deregulation. Canada has some protections in telecom that don't exist in the U.S. If market foces cannot exert themselves, you don't get free market rates. (sure there are over variables, and this is a gross simplification, but it's one of the things holding the rates artificially high in Canada.)

I'm sure T-Mo would love to start selling service in Canada.

$29.99+, actually... Despite the anti-at&t bias here at Pinstack, at&t doesn't have the worst BB data rates in the US. Try Verizon, for example -- you don't even get a non-BES data plan option.

Verizon offers a bis plan. Its $45 a month for unlimited but no text messages.
