Convenience & volume keys not working!

My Blackberry 8100 is a year old, i just recently dropped it in water but it has now completely dried and is working great with the exception of the left side conenience key, top mute button, and volume key.

I have no idea what i did, or how to fix it. Whenever i press the left key, it's as if i pressed the "W" key and goes to my contacts with W's in them, the mute key goes to the "A" contacts, and if i press "up" on the volume key it goes to my "X" contacts. I can't mute my phone now or turn up and down the volume. And whenever I try to program the right convenience key it ignores it goes to the W's.

    Please help me!!!

Well, I'm guessing the contacts are corroded from being dropped in water...I'd say it's not working so great...

I was in the shower once listening to music from my 8100 from right outside the shower. Phone rings, I wasn't thinking, and I used my wet finger to scroll the trackball and dismiss the call. It never worked the same.

Flash forward to my 8130. In it's pouch it jumped into a toilet somehow. I reached in the clean water and got it out. Took it apart and used a hair dryer on it. Worked like a champ til I upgraded.

I think it just depends on what gets wet and how long the components are affected. You may need another device unfortunately. Some places to start would be here on PinStack, ebay, Craigslist, etc...

J llama is right on - it depends what got wet and how long it got wet. I once dropped an 8700g into the toilet (gross!) at a restaurant, and two or three hours later I took it apart and set the parts out on a towel, and when I put it back together the next afternoon it was fine. (It's actually still my main squeeze!) Another time I was watching a NatGeo Special on TV about Niagra Falls, and my son came into the room with his 8100Pearl - just seeing Niagra Falls on the TV through its camera lens was enough to destroy it.
