Can you stop making copies of outgoing mail?

Hi, pretty new to this (Just got my 1st BB) and was just wondering how I can stop getting a copy of every email I send in my inbox. It's pretty annoying, as it looks like a new mail (the LED flashes, new mail icon on home screen, and it looks for all intents and purposes as if I've got a new mail) and this means that I've gotta read it to 'clear' my inbox, which is just a bit of a hassle.

I'm on an 8800, if that makes any odds.

    Ta.

If you are on BIS just go to your carriers website and apply the filter to do not forward sent messages to handheld.
    this should work.
Been a long while since last login. Sorry all, adjusting to a new life is great and hell at the same time!!

Try the 'Hide Sent Messages' set to yes option. Goto Messages > Options > General Options.

Ah sorted! thanks v much. Took the advice about BIS filters. Couldn't work out how to do that specific filter, but just filtered all email with my address in the 'from' field, and that's done it.

It's a pretty common issue if you're using gmail as gmail doesn't have a spearate inbox, sent items, etc.

Sent Items don't show up as new mail or trigger alerts. Additionally, they have a check icon next to them instead of the envelope. Unfortunately, hiding Sent Items doesn't help if the person having the problem has integrated a gmail account with BIS.

LexSpell is what I use. It resides on the device. Works great.

Actually, a better way and the way to eliminate it all together is to go to the carrier's webside and edit each email account to delete the AUTO BCC.
