 I used a Blackberry on company Lotus Notes enterprise. They put IT security restrictions (password, no text messaging). I want to use device as a phone only (wit text messaging). I wiped handheld clean and those restrictions still there? any ideas??

The best route is to speak with the IT Admin or your boss. Tell him your concerns. The IT policy can be set specific to each device so your restrictions can be turned off. Welcome to pinstack!

my understanding is that even after they remove your pin they still have to send a blank policy to the device

Sorry, I called rim about this situation before and thats what i was told. Maybe you can give them a call and have them explain how to do it.

you have to remove the IT policy via the BES it was used on. there is another way and RIM won't help you. try this thread i posted.

took me like 2 hours to write the thread lol incidentally you may have lingering bits after doing this so it is advisable to do a java wipe and reload to get all settings to where they should be
