Have you had no connection when you entered the internet? Did the BB ask to remind you when the connection is back? If yes then check youre messages if you find a message also marked with the same icon and delete the message.

scadroes, did you remove the PTT application from your device? If not, are you sure, the application is OFF/DISABLED?

You can scroll through active applications by pressing and holding the left Alt key and then the Esc key (to the right of the trackball). At least that's the method on a full QWERTY keyboard. Not sure if that'll work on your Pearl.

Most everything I've read on the 'net does indicate this dot is a by-product of the PTT application and it is either in an active state somehow or you need to remove it entirely from your device.

Ah, okay. What OS are you running on your device? Options>About, 3rd line down.

You need to have this same OS installed on your PC as well in order for this to work. Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs (Programs and Features if you're on Vista). Look for anything called BlackBerry Device Softare 4.x.

If there's nothing there, you'll need to download and install the OS onto your PC before we can remove the PTT application.

This might be a good time to upgrade your OS if you're so inclined!

Okay, then on your PC, navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8110-v4.x.x.xx_Px.x.x.xx\Java. Here you will locate and delete a filed called net_rim_bb_phone_ptt_app.cod. Just click once on the file, then press the Delete button.

Next, connect your device to the PC, launch Desktop Manager, go into Application Loader>Add / Remove Programs. Follow the prompts and it will recognize that the above file is no longer in the Loader Files and subsequently remove it from your device.

Let me know if you have other questions.

A screen should have come up on Desktop Manager saying that .cod file is missing and will be removed from the device. Did you see that?

What version of DM are you using?

scadroes, it's been awhile since I used DM 4.3. Can you uninstall it through add/remove programs and download 4.6? I know that version will show you what's happening.

I'm sorry this seems like such a pain to get rid of a tiny blue circle, but you'll be glad to have the free space on your device after removing this application!

    Cheers,
    Roger
