    blocking web based SMS

I have a friend that CONSTANTLY sends me sms messages from the Rogers website

    http://www.shoprogers.com/wireless/sendpcs.asp

it infuriates me to no end, because it is an SMS that I can’t reply to. And he is only doing it because he knows it bothers me, and it’s free for him to do. (he is with bell and pays for each outbound SMS)

I called Rogers, they said that they can’t block it without blocking all SMS messages.

When I get the sms message it’s sender address is +30600001. That is obviously an internal Rogers network number. Can I block it?

Don't think there is any way to selectively block SMS messages. However, if he sends you lots of texts and his cost money, you could always just forward them on to him (using his providers site if you wish).

I'm not saying you should do anything nasty, but some people don't seem to get the hint until it affects their pocket book...

/spoken by someone who pays per message and has rude acquaintences...
    As always, just my opinion...

mj is right. If they won't be convinced any other way sometimes that is the only message that some people listen to!

Have you tried to create a filter for that address in your BIS account? Just to see if it will serve any use to you, wouldn't hurt.

This is a good idea, but filters are only good for email not SMS sincre they don't pass thru the BIS

Makes sense sn1p3r, I know that Sprint Nextel has the ability to block SMS, or shortcodes, using the messaging vendors server, but only if they can see them in the logs.

It's pretty much all-or-nothing. Your carrier can remove SMS or you can block SMS via the BB's firewall. However, you can't selectively block SMS via either method.

    What they said.

The problem is that those short numbers might be the same, or they equally as often might not be.
