Hey guys, wondering if someone is able to help me out. My daughter is getting ... General Blackberry forum
blocking sms and calls from a certain number!
Hey guys, wondering if someone is able to help me out. My daughter is getting harassed by her ex-boyfriend and we need to know if there is a way to block texts and calls from his number. If there is a way I would like to go this route (I would even pay for the app) than go thru the police and get a restraining order put on him.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also need to block BBMessenger if possible. Is that just a matter of deleting him from her list

As far as messenger you can just delete him and ignore future request. Not sure if there is an app for the blocked calls. I know T-Mobile has a place on their site to block certain numbers. I use this myself. The best way though is to set her up a google voice number. My family and I use the crap out of it because none of us like giving out our personal number. That way we can block a caller or even record a conversation if we need to.
If you go to Options, Security, Firewall - You can block SMS, MMS, PIN, BIS, and/or Enterprise Email completely or check the "Except Messages from" box and choose "Contacts" or "Specific Addresses".
If you check "Contacts", you can check the SMS box and then the "Contacts" box and it will only expect messages from people in her address book. Same with her BBM or she can just delete him and when he requests to be a friend again, just leave him in pending. Phone calls, you can find software to do that such as "Call Blocker Professional" which is in the app store.
Cheapest, cleanest, and safest way, is to change her cell number, then get a google voice number. Only give out the google voice number for calls and sms, drop sms from your rate plan, delete from bbm, and set up call blocking from google voice. Anything else is a round about way that does not work as you need. And it will save you a little cash at the same time, no sms plan, and no purchased apps.
You can call your service provider and have them help you with that issue
Thanks for the help guys, got everything blocked.
Which method/methods did you use if I may ask?
I did what KalebsDad78 said in his post. It works like a charm!
We haven't installed a call blocker yet unless he starts calling her.
