    Re: Blackberry While Driving?

Wow. Definately do them all. Actually jusat monday I did a drive from home to work. And the way there I made a few short calls. Then walked an employee on doing something with their samsung phone. I helped a customer via text with reloading software. And I was using bb messenger. And when I was done I got on the stacks to c what was new. Maintained a safe 45-50mph all the way through without looking like a crazy man. I've gotten to the point where. I can type without looking at the keypad. Its really bad. And just the other day. I got on my browser to find a lyric to a song my wifeand I were listening to while I was driving. And I googled some directions as well.
I am a very safe and alert driver. But my mom won't drive with me if I'm doing all that. Lol.

I feel guilty saying yes, I do use my bb while driving. I usually wait until I'm at a red light to type though...lol, not that it makes it acceptable. The biggest problem is holding up traffic when the light turns green....I'm sure I've made some drivers mad...oh well, sorry.

    Re: Blackberry While Driving?

Done them all multiple times. Worst part is I KNOW BETTER. Last year i decided to answer an IM on the road, running late, using my wrist to shift, legs to hold my coffee, one hand on the wheel while gripping a cigarette. Needless to say it did not go so well. Ended up missing a turn in the road that i have taken hundreds of times and landing backwards in a ditch.

    Re: Blackberry While Driving?

Most of the time I am just using my Pearl as an MP3 player for my car. (I have no CD player or cassette player, so I use a FM transmitter.)

I do talk on the phone and text though. And occasionally I will browse the internet, email, or do anything else. I mainly listen to music, talk on, and text on the Pearl.

It's really scary when you are reading something on the BB and you look up and you think "I don't remember getting this far while driving." :[

    Re: Blackberry While Driving?

Some studies have show just talking on a cell phone is more impairing than being .08 legally drunk! That isn't even texting or e-mailing.
    Bad idea folks!
Makes me scared to be on the road. I tell people they can't drive all the time for medical reasons. Driving is not a right and you are obligated to do it safely, it is not just you out there. I hope we don't hear from the stacker that kills somebody first.
Exercise a little will power and STOP before you are that person!
NOTHING is so important it can't wait, and if it is, pull the duck over.
