It's easy once you get used to it.

Wow, I love this place danger and excitement. I better wait till I'm a lot better with the keyboard. I can barely type a email looking at the device! 3 Cheers to you!

There was a feature on ABC news this morning about distracted driving. They kept mentioning BB. I bet they have it on evening news tonight.

Yeah, I saw that too. I was actually talking to Hydn when it came across. It specificly said "Using your blackberry while driving increases your chances of being involved in an accident by 3x".

    Re: Blackberry While Driving?

To alleviate some of the hands on aspects of driving while crackberry-ing, I think that the headset inventors should (for the WIRED headsets that is) incorporate a trackwheel IN the sensor by the mouth.

That way, if you have a dashboard mount, you can mount it (cleverly) in your driving field of vision perifery and by utilizing the trackwheel by your mouth, easily navigate the screens!!!!!

Just a suggestion and I'll take the usual 15% royalty cut AFTER the 'patented' idea has been bought from me (with negotiation room of course) ....

OOOhhhh...nice little subtle slam there. HAHAHAHA...

What I forsee in the next 3 years would be RIM making the blackberry compatible with some stereo head units in cars, such as the 6" LCD display screens. You would have a port where you could either bluetooth a connection into your LCD display or link it through the USB port. Then you would be able to control your BB from your display, with a much larger display and control. I may be out there on this idea, however I see it as being a very good possibility within 3 years. So you've heard it here first.

LOL Good idea. I've already seen this type of setup for people who have disabilities and can't use direct selection with their hands on a communication device. In fact, it was already done with a 950 for a guy with Muscular Dystrophy. Check out this article. http://www.prentrom.com/heroes/MattHuggins.html

I just got my dashboard mount yesterday and it makes it ALOT easier to play with my BB while driving. What is also cool is when I forget to bring my headset I just put the calls on speakerphone.

i think anyone who has a cell phone should have a ear piece its already distracting. I wish they would pass the law here in Mass like they have in NY to many drivers here causing accidents while holding their cell phones up to their ears.

    Re: Blackberry While Driving?

The media always picks on cell phones causing accidents, when more are caused by things like eating, smoking, and messing with the radio than cell phones. I think saying you have to have an earpiece is a little too much government oversight. There are drivers out there who should not talk on the phone and drive, or eat or smoke, or touch the radio, but they do.

Wow - I get a little fiesty on this topic.
