    Question Blackberry Messenger Data Type

    Hi,

My Australian carrier (Optus) categorizes their own carrier data and blackberry data separately. Whilst I have unlimited blackberry data on my plan, I do not have unlimited "standard" data. Does anyone know which server(?) applications like blackberry messenger use? If these apps use "blackberry data" and not "carrier data" then that would obviously be beneficial. I'm pretty sure that apps like google maps use carrier data but wasn't sure about bb messenger. Thanks in advance

    Tom

Hi. I can help you with that, as my carrier does the same. BB messenger is definitely "blackberry" data and thus is included.
I deleted whatever information I had on my options -> adv. options -> tcp, settings to avoid accidentally using an app that goes through the provider's servers. You might want to do the same. Cheers.
