Have you tried a battery pull to see if this helps? With the device powered on, remove the battery for a couple of minutes, then replace it. See if you can then receive the files.
Also, what device do you have? Check your default settings for where the device stores media. Once we have your device info, we can tell you how to navigate to these settings.
