i will agree that *most* blackberry devices, OUT OF THE BOX, are laggy and tend to reboot/lock up. what we have seen here in the past two years with the new set of 8xxx models is that downloading and installing the latest OS (im NOT a WM person, so not sure if the OS on those are upgrade'able) on your PC, then running application loader will help solve some of your issues.

also check out this thread. the title of the thread might not suit your needs perfectly, but the gist is that it will help solve some memory leak issues, which i can only guess is why your bb is soo unresponsive...

well, i can only vouch for myself and what i see on here
ATT was slow to release the 8310 OS and i had to endure a seriously laggy bb for the first week i had it. there are 2-3 threads specifically for the issues that the OP is having...so, hence, they are NOT uncommon

maybe *MOST* was a little exaggeration, but i digress

Mine were laggy too! 8300, 8100, and 8310
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?

All right, all right -- you guys [ ...girls] outrank me. But I would certainly
hate to get an 83xx only to have it turn out to be sluggish!

I just bought a 8120 Which freezes way too much. But I like this model too much to give up on it. I did unlock themes on it but when I get back to work tomorrow I'm going to go back to the original os. I think that will really help. Don't give up on it. Blackberries really are the most stable pda phones around. I've had the wing and the dash with windows 6. I was not impressed. Media on windows phones are wonderful, but what about everything else. I'm sure the next os release will make a world of difference. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
