    I currently have a blackberry pearl with BIS and I was wondering, if I get a non blackberry phone such as the dash or rizr can I still go online with the BIS?

    I dont think its supported, but then again I don't think It can't work, probably depending on the actual device itself, meaning its settings................................anyone!

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ nope. U won't be able to. BIS is tied to your imei number. So only your BB can access the internet with BIS. All data related stuff routs through blackberry's servers.

    Actually, BIS is tied to the IMEI and PIN. I think the PIN is how RIM identifies where to send the email.

    You might be able to get BB Connect if your new device is supported. I do not know if that gives you BIS access or not as I have not used it.

    You should be able to get on the internet from a regular phone with the basic BIS service. I know transfering between my Treo and my 8700c internet works seemlessly and flawlessly upon power up.
