Blackberry Email Client

My friend just bought a Blackberry 7280, just like mine. I was helping him set up a Blackberry Email account, and when I put in his IMEI and PIN, the system said that they couldn't recognize the IMEI. Not sure why, but my plan is probably to tell him to call AT&T/Cingular and sign up for a Blackberry Data Plan, which should remedy this for him.

What do you think?

I didn't have to do that for mine, but let me try it again.

Thanks

I actually got everything set up, there was a problem on Cingular's end, but all is well now.
